First I'd like to thank the incredible
 for allowing me to use her photo "Chief" to do this drawing. You can find the original photo here ---> [link]I must admit that this REALLY had me stumped. I used several new media and that could have been one element of it, but I had never quite struggled with the smoothness of skin or shadowing before. My trusty grid-mirror method kept me in proportion and perspective, but there were a million tiny things that had me by the wrists the whole way thru. I'm glad for this though, because it was a challenge and I learned new things. I'm going to keep using the new medium till I've worked those kinks out too! 24x36 Dark Teal Color Canson Paper (added original size scan) x that. File was too big. Cut it in half hope this is better. Prismacolor Markers Prismacolor Pencils Conte' a' Paris Hard Pastels TWO pink erasers Grey Art Gum 10lbs of coffee and a bottle of Valium Grid method used for perspective and proportion I wanted to name this " Too Young To Be Chief - Too Old To Be Brave" but I just ran out of room. We attempt to accomplish this by daily featuring Literature artists from around the community that deserve the recognition, but are not getting it.
