I've done the same with this piece as I did with Sound of Darkness. This originally was a hand drawn image (you can find the original in my gallery) but as I looked at it I began to wonder what it would look like if I scanned it and ran it thru photoshop. Nothing major, contrast, curves, color levels - but it TOTALLY changed the feel of the drawing - and since it how now been photoshopped I figured I should submit it in digital. So here is a look at the NEW Black Rain.

The Black Rain
It poured down like sunshine.
It came to cleanse; to balance the clarity I had distorted.

And the Black Rain poured from white clouds.
The Lightning was like ice,
And The Thunder was melodic.

The drops fell, and there was no shelter.
It rushed over me and soaked me; but it warmed me,
like tiny fingers touching me and then falling away.

The Wind called and blew in a fury that felt like calm.
It blew thru me and pushed away the madness.

The Black Rain fell.
It dripped down my face; my neck; my back.
My hair, once black streamed down white
and my white skin became black like the rain…and beautiful.

My cries out were gulps of air rushing in to fill me
With life-
To save me from the death I lived each day.

I fell to my knees as The Lightning danced
and froze the world around me.
The Earth reached up and embraced me.
The Wind wrapped around me to hold me softly.
The Lightning struck me gently and cooled my burning mind.
And The Black Rain washed away my sins…

Took my sins down and away
Into puddles and pools
So black… so black and so deep
I could no longer see them.

And then…I was Free.
